Glenwood-Lynwood Public Library District offers provisional Notary services to the public.

Hours of Availability:

Notary Services are provided during the following business hours:

Monday thru Friday: 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM

Important Availability Notice:

Please call ahead for availability at 708-758-0090.

General notary service of signature acknowledgment is offered at the library with a valid photo ID*.
*Foreign passports, foreign driver’s licenses, and foreign ID cards cannot be accepted.

Please DO NOT sign your name on any of the documents as we have to witness your signature.

If you do sign your name before we witness your signature, you’ll have to reprint out your documents.

Documents NOT eligible for Notary at this location:

Due to new stringent legislation to prevent fraud, the Library cannot provide notary service for documents of conveyance of:

  • Real estate, i.e. estates, evictions, leases, loans including modifications, mortgages, and property transfers
  • Medical Authorizations
  • Power of Attorney
  • Tax-related documents

No documents handwritten.  Documents must be typed out with a notary line.

If the notary is unsure of the validity of a document, they have the right to refuse to notarize the document(s).

To be sure, please call ahead.

It is important to remember that a notary only verifies the signer’s identity and that the signature was made willingly. A notary does not legalize a document, prove a document to be true, or provide any legal assistance.
