Electronic Databases
Glenwood-Lynwood Public Library subscribes to a number of electronic databases which are available to users of the Library. Unless otherwise noted, access to databases from home will require Glenwood-Lynwood Public Library cardholders to type in their library bar code number and last name.
Ancestry Library Edition Genealogical research using census records from 1790 to 1630; birth, marriage, and death records; immigration records; vital and church records; military records; and court, land, and probate records. This resource is only accessible in the library building.
Auto Repair Reference Center Includes (from 1945 to present) vehicle drawings and step-by-step photographs, technical service bulletins & recalls, wiring diagrams, specifications & maintenance schedules, Labor Time Guide & Estimator; and more to help you repair any make and model of car.
Chilton Library Online access to repair, maintenance, and serivce information on the most popular cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs on the road today. Includes (1940 to present) step-by-step service instructions, close-up photographs and illustrations, vacuum and wiring diagrams, troubleshooting and diagnostics and more to help you repair your car.
EBSCOhost The main portal for all EBSCO databases, including Business Source Premier, Health Source Consumer Edition, and MasterFILE Premier. Many sources include full text, peer-reviewed articles.
Education City An education and learning resource for K-6 students. EducationCity.com consists of highly interactive and engaging online activities that cover Language Arts, Math, and Science. To Login: contact the library for the login ID and password.
Gale Search a variety of databases including full-text, encyclopedia, magazine and newspaper articles as well as student, business and literature resources online. Grolier Online Online Passport offers online access to the Grolier encyclopedia database for older students and adults. Lands and Peoples, for middle and high school users offers an encyclopedia of countries, cultures, and current events. Also includes a dictionary and an atlas.
Illinois WorkNet Illinois workNet Center is the primary resource for information and services within the statewide workforce development system. Job seekers and employers can access valuable information about occupations; access career services such as resume and job search assistance; view various federal, state and local service programs; and locate local Illinois workNet centers which operate a resource room for job seekers.
I-Share An online card catalog for 76 libraries belonging to CARLI, the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois.
