Ford Heights
In July of 2004 the Ford Heights Library Board began to contract for library services with the Glenwood-Lynwood Public Library. This resulted from the Ford Heights Library, which was located in the Cottage Grove Middle School, closing in April of 2004. The Board wanted to continue to provide library service to the residents of Ford Heights, but had no library building.
By contracting for service with the Glenwood-Lynwood Library, Ford Heights residents have full access to any library in the Metropolitan Library System, specifically those neighboring communities to Ford Heights. The Glenwood-Lynwood Library has purchased a bookmobile that travels to Ford Heights, bringing the library to the community.
Ford Heights residents can obtain a library card at the Glenwood-Lynwood Library or on the bookmobile. They need to provide a picture ID and proof of residence. The library card is valid until June 30, 2008.
